The mathematics inside the twin
Models need sound theory. We share work on the methods that make a twin stable and useful.
- Mathematical modeling and simulation
- Optimization and decision models
- Fixed point and iterative methods
From Digital Twinsto Community Impact
Research × Education × Real-World Application
The Reunion Symposium is a yearly meeting of lecturers and researchers who studied fixed point theory and optimization under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Poom Kumam at King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT). Each year, a member university hosts the event. In 2026, Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University is the host.
This year we ask how a digital twin can move from a model on a screen to a real change in a community. We look at the mathematics behind it, how to teach it, and where it already works.
ReConnect 5.0 is a two-day academic symposium with talks, a panel, hands-on workshops and time to plan joint work. It is open to alumni of the network and to anyone who wants to use data and models for real communities.
A digital twin is a live model of a real place, system or process. It is updated with data, so we can test ideas on the model before we act in the real world.
Models need sound theory. We share work on the methods that make a twin stable and useful.
Students learn more when they can change a model and see the result. We look at ways to bring this into class.
Twins of campuses, cities and public spaces can guide real decisions. We discuss cases and how to measure impact.
No paper submission is needed. Come to learn, share your work and meet future partners.
Members of the KMUTT alumni network at universities across Thailand.
People working in applied mathematics, data science and related fields.
Mathematics, science and technology teachers and teacher trainers.
Graduate students and community or local partners with real problems to solve.
Day 1 focuses on research and ideas. Day 2 turns to classrooms, communities and joint plans.
Our speakers bring expertise in mathematical modeling, digital innovation and mathematics education. The full list will be announced soon.
